myRA® supports Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday is an annual event that encourages people to “shop small” by supporting local small businesses. This is also the first year myRA has been widely available across the United States, and we’re excited that it’s poised to help strengthen these small businesses.
Small business owners have a lot on their plates and often play multiple roles, including those of managers, accountants, and customer service providers. They also care deeply about their workers, but often aren’t able to offer a 401(k) to help those employees save for retirement.
Through conversations with small business owners across the country, we’ve seen how myRA can help their employees save for a more secure financial future. And there’s no cost or administrative hassles for employers. For these small businesses, that’s a win-win situation.
When it comes to saving for retirement, it doesn’t matter the type of small business, they are interested in helping empower their employees. We’ve heard from many types of small businesses, from a florist in Ypsilanti, MI to a convenience store in Texarkana, TX and a grocery store in Washington, DC. The feedback shows that the appeal of myRA to small businesses is universal.
So, on this Small Business Saturday, we thank all the small business owners who take risks in order to succeed, all the employees who work to achieve that success, and all the customers who help them thrive. We hope myRA makes it just a little easier.
